I helped the owner of this house transform a bland and characterless-looking 1960s house into a stunning home.
The property is within a conservation area and, therefore, required careful attention when submitting the planning application.
Originally, the property had a flat roof and I could see that there was potential to add a new floor, enabling the owner to gain a fabulous view of Portsmouth Cathedral and large ships passing by, in nearby Portsmouth Harbour.
The addition of a projecting bay window with a frameless glass corner, as well as painting the new render white, has given the house a crisp, clean and modern look.
By setting the entrance back from the street, the owner now has a smart new porch and an off-road parking bay – a huge bonus in this part of Old Portsmouth.
